Michael Paranal is the Financial Law Legal Counsel to the European Central Bank’s Office of Director-General. He specializes in monetary policy, monetary infrastructure and securities regulation. Michael holds the distinction of being the first and only non-European citizen to be legal counsel to the Director-General of the ECB. In 2015, he was awarded the Robert Bosch Fellowship for Law. Michael was previously the Chief Financial Officer of Superior Lithographics Inc. and has been invited as guest speaker in international law and business gatherings in the U.S., Switzerland, Ireland and Spain. He currently lives in Frankfurt, Germany.
