Lawrence Cole is a customer data and analytics enthusiast, entrepreneur, author and Alfred L. Morse MBA fellow at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He also likes to build cool things that make an impact outside of himself. At Wharton, he is the founder of the school’s Data & Analytics Club, the student-facing arm of the Wharton Customer Analytics Initiative (WCAI). Lawrence is also an active member of the Wharton Wharthogs Rugby Team and currently serves as the webmaster and head of marketing for that organization. He is also involved in Wharton’s Founders’ Club, Entrepreneurship Club, African American MBA Association, Technology Club and Golf Club. Prior to Wharton, Lawrence spent two years working as a marketing and operations manager for the vBulletin software brand at Internet Brands (IB) in El Segundo, CA. Prior to Internet Brands, he founded and ran two dot-com businesses in the online marketing and weight loss industries, respectively. He also spent a number of years gaining experience in corporate sales, logistics operations and software engineering for UPS, Earthlink and NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory. Lawrence earned a B.S. in electrical engineering magna cum laude from Florida A&M University and mentors for The Tiger Woods Foundation. He has also been active in Toastmasters International and American Mensa for a number of years.
